No Tech Expo 2016? 5 Things You Missed

Written by Sara Peters | May 4, 2016

The 2016 Crane Engineering Tech Expo in Milwaukee was our largest and most widely attended event yet. We were thrilled to see new attendees from southern Wisconsin, and just as thrilled to see our friends from the Fox Valley and northern Wisconsin making the trek to Milwaukee!

Here's a quick breakdown of what you missed if you didn't get a chance to attend this year.

ITT Goulds Pumps new i-ALERT2

ITT Goulds Pumps brought the i-ALERT2 to life at the show this year. They brought a vibration table to demonstrate how the i-ALERT2 can respond to real-life upset conditions, allowing maintenance people to get ahead of potential issues before they cause failures. We took a video of the demonstration, subscribe to our email list so you can see the video as soon as it's out of production.

Live Valve Troubleshooting Demonstrations

We brought some of our brightest valve minds to the show so they could demonstrate real-life valve problems. One the demos was "how to solve for a hunting positioner". Attendees learned a lot about how to get greater control over their processes by maintaining and troubleshooting valve issues. You can learn more about troubleshooting valves on our blog.

Viking Pump's Hygienic Series

Viking Pump released its
Hygienic Series about a year ago, a new internal gear pump for sanitary applications. It was on display at Crane Engineering Tech Expo. Viking Pump also presented a wildly popular technical session: 10 Ways to Kill A Positive Displacement Pump. Many of those ways are covered in one of our eBooks - 27 Ways To Kill A Positive Displacement Pump. Check it out!

Gorman-Rupp's Glass Faced Demo Pump

This demo pump is always an attendee favorite. Those who attended Gorman-Rupp's presentation, "Basic Hydraulics Theory For Pumping Systems", were able to get a more in depth understanding of how process conditions can change the performance of centrifugal pumps, particularly in self-priming pumpsGorman-Rupp representatives had a crowd of attendees (at points, 3 deep) while they demonstrated different points from the presentation.

Jeff Janis and Jared Abbrederis!

At the end of the day, attendees were invited to kick back and enjoy a cold one while they listened to a presentation from Green Bay's Jeff Janis and Jared Abbrederis. They shared their thoughts about last season (including that awesome hail mary!) and what's in store for this year. Those who arrived early were able to grab an autograph football from the Viking Pump, Pulsafeeder, or Warren Rupp booths to get signed after the show.

If you weren't able to make the 2016 show, you won't get another chance to attend until spring of 2018. We'll be coming back to the Fox Valley and it promises to be an awesome event! Get on our mailing list today so you don't miss the latest news from our blog, and other Crane Engineering events.
