Crane Engineering's team member Value Awards were announced last month at the annual holiday party. With more than 100 nominations, leadership from Crane Engineering selected the winners and awarded team members who best demonstrated the company's core values.
Crane Engineering's core values include:
Each year, employees nominate colleagues who best exemplify Crane's core values. The nominees are then narrowed down until one employee is chosen for each category. It's been a Crane Engineering tradition for over 10 years to announce the winners at the company holiday party. This year Lance Crane presented awards to the following recipients:
Cody at Crane Engineering Headquarters
Cody embodies the phrase “Keep your nose to the grindstone”. He always keeps his head down, continues working, and goes above and beyond to make sure the BPO program hits its deadlines. He even goes as far as coming in on Saturdays when it’s not requested of him. He’s a great example for our new technicians entering the shop, and continues to lead/teach them by example, while treating them with the same level of respect he would for any other coworker.
Rob at Crane Engineering in Minnesota
Derek and Jason at Optiflow Design and Build Center
They both have stepped up a tremendous amount in 2024. They have given directions to Optiflow and all its team members in a year where things did not go anything like as planned. We had one of the largest projects get cancelled right at the beginning of the year and then went through the departure of an account manager and the business unit manager. These two stepped up and took on some of those tasks and kept Optiflow moving forward. With their leadership, we still had some amazing wins as a team in 2024. Their teamwork-driven attitude made it effortless for us to come into the office every day and keep the train on the tracks. Consistently in our weekly meetings they emphasized that everything is still business as usual and Optiflow still had customers to please and a goal to achieve. Derek and Jason really devoted themselves to the team through their actions and words in 2024.
Mary at Professional Pump
Mary is the face and personality of Professional Pump. She always puts her customers first and has great relationships with her customers. They put their repairs in trust and always make sure they are getting what they need when they need it. Her organizational skills help keep her customers at the forefront of the service business at Professional Pump.
Scott at Crane Engineering Headquarters
Scott is a truly knowledgeable teammate who always thinks in a creative manner to offer solutions to customers by utilizing components from our core product lines.
Scott always brings expertise to challenging valve applications and situations with his experience. This has been really impactful with some of the newer team members joining the valve team in the last year. The valve calls in the more are always a great way him to provide impactful input to the team.
Scott has had a lot of experience throughout the years as an application engineer and when we have difficult applications, he always has creative approaches to solving problems. Having past knowledge allows him to solve applications in new ways.
Justin at Professional Pump
For how he supports his customers and account managers. He does his work with such great speed that it comes from the drive to serve the customer. I know his account managers trust the job to be done right and fast when they turn something over to Justin. Very glad he is part of our team.
Brooke at Crane Engineering Headquarters
Brooke really does bring passion and energy to the workplace. She has a contagious demeanor, one that everyone gravitates to. Brooke has been a great addition to the HR team, bringing her positive energy and nonjudgmental attitude with every obstacle and person she encounters. A true representative our company is fortunate to have on the team!
Jake at Optiflow Design and Build Center
Jake brings such a fun atmosphere to OptiFlow! He is always the first one to jump up and say hi to visitors.
Tim at Crane Engineering Headquarters
Our winner for the 212 award this year is Tim. Tim started with us in 2016 as an application engineer coming out of UW-Platteville. The bulk of the time Tim has been with us, he has worked closely with account managers like Jeff, Dave, and Ben to help grow their territories and provide a next-level customer experience. Over the last couple of years, he has become a leader of our new equipment team and more recently the parts team has given him other avenues to impact our business. As long as he has been at Crane, he has exemplified the Core Values in a way that he is the standard by which we look for new engineers - to a point that we ask “could this person be a Tim” when interviewing. We are excited to have him as a part of the Crane team and present our 212 award to someone that turns up the temperature in everything, he does for us.
